As most of the world casually observes the ongoing violent unrest in Iran that surrounds the protests calling for a new presidential election, members of New York City-based rock band Hypernova watch very closely and intently as their home country is torn apart. Lead singer Raam has issued the following statement regarding the events:

First off, let me say that my heart goes out to the all the brave people who have stood up to the oppressors in this uprising. The people in Iran have been robbed. The lives that have been lost in this revolt these past couple of days will not be in vain. What is happening in Iran is an historic event not only for Iran, but the world. This "open" movement is the first of its kind in the history of mankind all thanks to technology. Because of the internet, the people of the world are being exposed to the reality of the streets. The oppressive government is continuously trying to clean up after itself, resorting to senseless violence, obstruction of property and all sorts of propaganda. The people have had enough. They will not tolerate the injustices anymore.

Thanks to social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, the the people now have a voice. Every single person I have talked to is willing to risk their lives in the name of Freedom and Justice. The rest of the world has to follow the example of these brave people and stand strongly behind them so they don't give up. There is no going back from here. And I'm afraid to say this but, even though the opposition is growing every day and has taken a complete nonviolent stance, there will be blood on the streets. The ruthless anti-riot police will resort to any kind of violence. But as Jim Morrison once said: They got the guns but we got the numbers!!!!

We have to get the whole world united behind the Iranian people and let them know that they have our support. I also have contact to many journalists on the streets over there. If you know anyone who has witnessed anything please put them in touch with me so I can direct them to the proper people.

Our voices will be heard. We will not be silenced. The people shall prevail.

I understood why I liked this music. It had enough substance to be memorable and compelling, but it didn't require so much from you that it left you with a deficit. It was an energizing, uplifting sound while still being negative enough to be artistically interesting. They really had been an appropriate opener for The Sisters of Mercy. There is always the danger that music that resonates on an emotional or primal level leaves the listener feeling drained. There was music that could stab me into oblivion in just a few notes, which had its place though I was less inclined to seek out that kind of recreational pain as I got older. Besides, few musicians have enough taste to make that kind of music without revealing themselves as the pretentious disaffected trying to sound profound. This music was none of that. It was plaintive and strong and drew a smile out of a dark place and made you feel better. I had felt the same way the first time I heard Nine Inch Nails when I was in junior high. I hoped, not for the first time, that Hypernova's music would reach people on a large scale. They, and their sound, deserved it

We spent our new years eve at Adam 12's [She Wants Revenge] house in LA dancing our asses of to the great music he spinned and drinking lots of champagne + eating huge amounts of chocolate chip cookie ?!?!?!?
We'll be back in our rehearsal studio in Brooklyn this week , finishing some cool new material and rehearsing a new live set up very different from what you saw on the last tour .Which you will see later in 2009.

May 09 be a great year for all of us blah blah blah the cliche' stuff every band posts on its blog !

_WHAT HAVE WE BECOME ?:

...Woke up this morning not feeling very good . Think I might have a fever.
We have a show tonight at the Spaceland which we will be headlining and its going to be our last show in LA.

I was reading the news this morning and came across a very very interesting headline : "Musicians don’t want tunes used for torture" . Clicked and guess what ? first thing I see : Nine Inch Nails, even ‘Sesame Street’ theme used for interrogations. Couldn't believe what I was reading... . Nine Inch Nails is one of my favorite bands all time and I think Trent's music is pure art and intelligence. Using what someone has put all his love and effort into, to torture people is just absurdly insane!!! I am sickened by the fact that the music that I love and pleasures me is used for torture. I honestly can't believe what human beings are capable of doing to each other.
I seriously hope there is some sort of legal action that can be pursued to bring this injustice to an end.

+ Ill be going to the NIN show on the 13th at the Planet Hollywood resort and casino in Las Vegas so if you live near by make sure to come cause this might be the last NIN tour ever [According to NME.COM]

After wrapping up our national tour at the Henry Fonda , we decided to do a small intimate show with MAC WINSTON & THE REFLECTIONS at "3 Clubs" in Los Angeles. You should check them out, not only because Mac Winston is my cousin but they're also one of the best bands I've seen in Los Angeles.

So we went to downtown LA for an interview with VLAZE, which is an online television program. We played 4 tracks that are gonna be featured on their website.

Saying goodbye to people you truly love is ...hmm don't know what word I'm exactly looking for but now I know how our parents felt when we said goodbye to them. Even though we told them we're only gonna be away for a couple of weeks , they all knew they're not gonna be seeing us for a long while.

In one of the last posts when I said "We're becoming addicted to the sisters..." I really meant it.
Saying goodbye was just awkward.I cant imagine a day without seeing them play FIRST+LAST+ALWAYS. Who knows maybe we would tour again ?!

+Some guy told us we're the best goth band of the 21st century ! hahha.Thank you ...

So the show at Henry Fonda Theater kicked ass ...Amazing crowd.Great to see so many people knowing our songs !

Its 4:30 in the morning ..and I have no idea why I'm writing a blog right now...
As I'm writing this Jam is sleeping in front me snoring like my dead grandpa.

Its good to be back on tour again ...we had 5 days off and the last 2 days got really boring !
I have to admit : We're becoming/are addicted to The Sisters and playing shows with them every night !

San Francisco , you guys kick ass ! I was this close to dive into the crowd !
Hung out with The sisters at ...hmmm cant remember the name . But it was really fun . Felt like a family reunion.

Highlight of the night: Me trying to dance like a goth chick ! Wish I had a video of that

We played a really kick ass show in Denver thanks to all of you guys !
Denver is now in our top 5 cities to play again !

What you don't hear about :
Poya our new guitar player got pulled over by the cops twice ...
The funny thing is that Poya doesn't even drive. He barely knows how to start a car !
Long story short , he had to drive home someone who was really drunk. The crazy thing is that the second cop who pulled him over ended up guiding them towards their destination while he was following in the car. What a nice cop !
We don't even know how he got himself in such a situation ...well, we do know actually haha; but there's just stuff you cant write about on a blog ! I wish I could though , its a pretty unbelievable story.
we're all very very glad that he didn't get arrested.
maybe cause he's so nice to everyone !?
[Instead of an Id/drivers licence he showed an expired Iranian passport hahahahahaha ...]

We said goodbye to The Sisters for a couple of days , we're not gonna be playing Vancouver,Seattle and Portland with them. We'll be joining them again on November 26th for our show at the Grand ballroom in San Francisco.

Weird night !!
Us and the sisters both put on great shows but there was just something wrong...
Maybe the fact that some of the crew members at the venue were just being racist assholes or I don't know, maybe I'm being too negative cause I have a really bad fever ! well, shit happens...Great crowd though !

It's a 6 hour drive from Florida to Georgia , so we decided to drive a few hours that night.Our tour manager had reserved a hotel room in Lake city,Fl so we could get some rest...

5:00 AM
After driving a couple of hours we finally got to the destination [according to the GPS] ...BUT THERE WAS NO #$^&@* HOTEL THERE !!!!!! In fact we realized that we were going the wrong way for the past 100 Miles !

THE MATRIX IS REAL !
Remember how there was always a deja-vu when something went wrong in the matrix ?
*Never navigate/Drive/take the Red pill/see how far the rabbit hole goes when you have a fever !*

ATLANTA,GA
Atlanta has some of the prettiest girls we have ever seen ! Sucks that I was not feeling well tonight [ Threw up 2 times after the show ] , Sorry if my energy wasn't as good as always Atlanta !
Ill make it up to you guys when we come back !

+One thing that we noticed in these concerts is that : Goth girls dance very cute !

Orlando was awesome ! The weather reminds me of LA but the people are very different ...
Being in Disney world was like taking a time machine back to when we were very little...thank god there were no Jonas brothers back then !!!

The show at house of blues was great . I dont think we have ever played on a taller stage than the one at house of blues , it was 6 ft tall ! + Jam is scared of heights ! hahah

LEGO LANDDDD IS HEAVEN !!!! too many people on shrooms though !

Special thanks to Ryan for letting us crash at his house !!! You're absolutley wonderful

The fire department cut the Sister's set short when the venue's smoke detectors went off a bunch of times. Don't think smoke machines will kill anyone ?! Or do they !? hmm... !?

Ben Christo decided to take a day off from his fancy tour bus and ride with us common folk ! haha.Ben is by far one of the funniest and coolest people we have ever met.

We just arrived at our hotel in Orlando.
Its always fu n to finish the day off with a nice dip in the jaccuzi

...So after partying our asses off in New York and getting absolutely no sleep , it was time to head to New Haven,CT . The drive wasn't that bad actually only a couple of hours which I barely remember...I wonder why ?!!
We thought it was gonna be weird playing in front of a packed house of Yale graduates but seems like they were die hard Sisters fans and they really dug our sound as well .But the weird thing was that they separated the older crowd from the under age kids with a barrier.HOW FUCKING LAME IS THAT ? a beer or two wont hurt anyone !

Ripping 3 strings on 2 guitars and a cable is what I call a crazy show. last nights show at Irving plaza was one of our best performances so far .We played to a fully packed audience that were really digging our sound. Its really hard to impress the New York crowd , but I think we did a good job cause our Cd's sold like crazy !

Each show is getting better and better, we're having so much fun that we really don't want this tour to end anytime soon.

...Last night Raam and I watched this movie called "Into the Wild”. To be honest, I’m not a big movie person and it turns me off even more when they tell me, ” You gotta watch this movie, this ones a life changer”. But I think this one truly is!
The story is about 22 year-old Christopher Mcandless a College graduate walking out of his Money-oriented, materialistic life in search for adventure. Now, I’m not going to spoil the movie by saying what happens in the end, but this movie seriously made me think not too many people get to do what they love in life. Most people graduate from College, get a decent job and make good money but they’re not entirely happy with where they’re going in life. I have to say all of us in “HYPERNOVA” are very privileged to be doing what we always wanted to do in life. Our family is feeling stronger than ever.

By the way only three more days till Halloween and the first show of our national tour! We have a little surprise for you guys in Philly.
